What the assessment covers
- • Visual evidence in your photos: apparent thickness, materials, alignment with walls above

- • Age of the property and construction type (solid masonry, cavity, timber frame, concrete frame)
- • Visible structural features: lintels, padstones, beams, columns, joist direction

- • Approximate dimensions: length, height, thickness
- • Context: which storey, year built, property type, any previous alterations

Can the report tell me it is safe to remove the wall?
No. TravauxStructure never gives a final verdict. It is decision support: to remove a structural wall you will need a chartered structural engineer's calculations and, in England and Wales, a building regulations application.
How many photos should I send?
Three clear photos as a minimum: the whole wall, the junction with the ceiling and the junction with the floor. More context, especially the floor above, means a higher confidence rating.
Do I need building control approval?
Removing or altering a load-bearing wall is normally notifiable work under the Building Regulations. Your local authority building control or an approved inspector will want engineer's calculations before work starts.
